Overview of Tempo: Flourish

Tempo :Flourish (Flourish) is a coaching and professional learning program aimed at health professionals.

Flourish was designed to provide high quality, evidence-based content to health professionals.

Structure of Flourish

Flourish’s programs are offered online through a mix of recorded content, email content and live group coaching calls. Six modules are offered over a period of six months.

Flourish program content relies on the independent participation and completion of material by participants without supervision by the facilitators of Flourish.

Flourish program content will be made available through our online platform and email communication. Live classes are conducted via videoconferencing.

Relationship with Tempo: 2025 Flourish

Flourish is operated by Karen (Minky) van der Walt who is a registered music therapist, registered clinical counsellor and clinical supervisor.

While Karen (Minky) van der Walt is a registered music therapist and registered clinical counsellor, the Flourish Program is not a therapy or counselling service.

By consenting to participate in the Flourish program, participants acknowledge that they are participating in a coaching program and are not receiving therapy or counselling services from Karen (Minky) van der Walt.

To avoid any potential conflicts of interest arising, therapy clients of Karen (Minky) van der Walt cannot be accepted as participants in the Flourish program within a minimum of 12 months of cessation of therapy or counselling services provided by Karen (Minky) van der Walt.

Similarly, participants in the Flourish program cannot be accepted as music therapy or counselling clients of Karen (Minky) van der Walt within a minimum of 12 month of completion of the Flourish program.

Any requests for cross-referral or registration between former clients of Karen (Minky) van der Walt and Tempo will be assessed on a case by case basis, and will only be accepted at Karen (Minky) van der Walt’s discretion, depending on the individual circumstances.

If in the course of participating in the Flourish program, issues arise which in Karen (Minky) van der Walt’s professional opinion are beyond the scope of the coaching relationship, a participant may be advised to see their GP and obtain a referral to consult with an appropriate clinician.

Karen (Minky) van der Walt may at any time and in their sole discretion, terminate a participant’s registration in the Flourish Program if Karen (Minky) van der Walt considers it appropriate to do so. In the event of termination of a participant’s registration in the Flourish program on this basis, a partial refund of the participant’s registration fees may be provided.

Privacy and Disclosure of Personal Information

As part of your participation in the Flourish Program, Flourish needs to collect and record information from you.

We enclose a copy of our Privacy Policy, which we request you read and acknowledge your understanding of, prior to signing this document.

You will receive an email with a link to your participant information form - if you haven't received this, please contact Minky to request that this is sent to you.

Technology Requirements

Flourish is provided online through our website portal and by videoconferencing. You are responsible for the costs associated with setting up the technology needed so you can access online content and participate in video conferencing workshops.

To access Flourish content, you will need access to a computer, video camera, speakers and a private room or quiet space.

The privacy of any form of communication via the internet is potentially vulnerable and limited by the security of the technology used.

Fees

The cost of our program is $1500 + GST. Payment plans are available.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Flourish will grant a refund of the registration fee paid by any participant, within 72 hours prior to the commencement date of the Flourish program.

After the commencement of the course, full or partial refund of the registration fee will be granted at the discretion of Flourish, and ordinarily only in circumstances where a participant’s registration is terminated by Flourish in accordance with the terms of Part 3.
